In Marvel's 'Avengers: Infinity War', some of our favorite heroes will unfortunately meet their end due to Thanos' impending doom.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that Infinity War will be the final chapter for multiple characters introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with JoBlo, Feige confirmed the sad truth that we will be saying goodbye to some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes:
“We have another two years of hard work to even finish these movies, and they [the actors] have a lot of hard work to do, so thats all we’re thinking about, is completing those and delivering on the promise of those. Where it goes beyond that, we’ll see.”
A common criticism for the MCU is that stakes are not always high. Given that the franchise has often had fake-out deaths, it’s easy to doubt whether or not these characters will end up returning later on in the film. It also doesn’t help that the upcoming slate of MCU entries is public knowledge so it is difficult to remain invested at points, knowing that the majority of our heroes will be returning – as the postscripts of many of the MCU films state.
But because Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of the entire MCU that began with Iron Man in 2008, character deaths are inevitable. Both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy have experienced some life-threatening situations that took the lives of a few of their respective members. It is only a matter of time that more of them will not live for the next adventure.
Which characters do you think will be one of the multiple victims in Avengers: Infinity War? I believe that some of our newer heroes that include Ant-Man, The Wasp, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Captain Marvel will live to see Phase 4. As for some of the first heroes we met in the MCU, all bets are off.
