Marvel’s Netflix Heroes Were Considered For ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

During a special Q&A session with Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo, the filmmakers discussed why the film excluded the heroes of Marvel’s Netflix shows.

Avengers: Infinity War united nearly every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a showdown with the Mad Titan Thanos, with some of the notable exceptions being Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. During the aforementioned Q&A session, the Russo Brothers revealed that they discussed including the Netflix heroes but correlating the story between the other Marvel films in production and the television productions proved to be too complicated.

Anthony and Joe Russo returned to the director’s chair for Avengers 4.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 3, 2019.
