According to the trade, Dinklage’s new schedule on the HBO series — which has moved from a summer shoot to fall for its last two seasons — has given him an opening that would allow him to join the cast of the two Marvel Studios productions. Details about his role are being kept under lock and key, but Variety reports that the actor is expected to be in both of the upcoming Avengers movies, which will film back-to-back.
Joe and Anthony Russo will direct the two movies, which are expected to feature most of Marvel’s key players such as Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy along with a few newcomers, pitting them against Thanos, who will be played by Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 4, 2018. Its sequel is currently set for a May 3, 2019 release. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Peter Dinklage and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
