Reddit fan deadmemeresurrected points out that, in Avengers: Infinity War, Dr. Strange makes a point of saying that Thanos needs to close his fist in order to make the Infinity Gauntlet function. If that is indeed the case, and why would it not be, how does Thanos make half of the life in the universe disappear by snapping his fingers? It seems to go against the rules purposefully and tactfully set up by the Avengers filmmakers through Dr. Strange’s earlier dialogue.
You can check out the specific post below:
Dr. Strange told that Thanos can wield the power of gauntlet only if he clench his fist. Then how could a snap do the thing?

Other Avengers: Infinity War fans online were quick to point out such explanations as: Thanos is closing his fist when he goes to snap his fingers. Others insisted that it is just a comic book movie and that people should not overthink such things.
What do you think? Does this qualify as a legitimate plot hole? Or do you agree with one or perhaps both of the two popular responses/explanations? Let us know in the comments below!
