Heading into the end of the Infinity Saga, one of the biggest questions that was left unanswered was what happed to Red Skull after Captain America: The First Avenger. In Avengers: Infinity War, we learned that Red Skull was teleported to Vormir to guard the Soul Stone. Red Skull’s appearance in Infinity War will go down as one of the most surprising moments in all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Red Skull would go on to return in Endgame as well. One of the best parts Red Skull’s return was his appearance, consisting of a long, black cloak. Taking to Instagram, concept artist Constantine Sekeris shared a very early design for Red Skull that was considered for Avengers: Infinity War that looks a bit different from what we eventually got. Here’s what he said about the design:
“Early exploration design of Red Skull for Avengers Infinity War….I was at Marvel in the Visual development team lead by Ryan Meinerding….was allot of fun to work on this guy got to do some design work here and there for a few days …..Rodney fuenteblla ended designing the final for the film…..take a look at the other amazing talented artists who explored some kool designs by Jerad S Marantz, Justin Sweet,Ian Joyner, Anthony Francisco, Jackson Sze and John Staub…..loved the film.”
