‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Director On Trailer Release

Fans who were present at the D23 Expo or San Diego Comic-Con this year were treated to some knockout footage from Avengers: Infinity War that really brought the house down. However if you were unable to attend either event, odds are the praise of the footage is making you want a trailer even more. ComicBook.com spoke to Joe Russo, one of the Avengers: Infinity War directors, to try and pin down just when exactly the masses can expect a glimpse of the upcoming film. Here’s what he had to say:

“You know, all I can say is that when the footage comes out we want it to be exactly right. So we are taking our time and working on that footage because, as you can imagine, the levels of visual effects in these movies are unprecedented and there are certain things in this footage at Comic-Con that works specifically for a Comic-Con audience. But when we go wide, to a wide audience, we have to make sure that footage works for a wide audience. So we’re hard at work on that right now. I’m not going to give a timeline on it because I want to surprise people but, you know, hopefully, they’re patient with us.”

Russo makes a good point in that the mammoth amount of visual effects necessary to pull off a film like this is time consuming. Certainly they are able to show still-in-progress footage to a more receptive audience at Comic-Con that understands it will not be the final cut.

One thing is for sure, going by the hype the Comic-Con reel received, that when the footage does come out it is sure to blow us away. Until then, follow Heroic Hollywood for updates.
