So this whole story is a bit strange but it has been confirmed by numerous people. At San Diego Comic-Con ,Avengers: Infinity War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely spoke at length about ideas they had that ultimately didn’t make it into the film. One such idea involved Josh Brolin’s Thanos having to face the Living Tribunal but that isn’t even the strangest part.
The sudden jump to the Living Tribunal would have happened as Doctor Strange battled Josh Brolin’s Thanos. In the cut scene, Strange decides to blow Thanos’ mind away, resulting in it being flung through space and time. The Living Tribunal would have found Josh Brolin’s character guilty before the main battle resumed.
In Marvel comics, The Living Tribunal is an entity that oversees and maintains balance in reality and serves as its judge. As of today, The Living Tribunal has not appeared in any live-action form. This bit was obviously cut from the final product but, if it had remained, it would have made Avengers: Infinity War a bit more cosmic and trippy in nature!
What do you all make of this? Should Josh Brolin’s Thanos have had to face the Living Tribunal in Avengers: Infinity War? Sound-off your thoughts in the comments!
