‘Avengers’ Movies Rumored To Get Chinese Re-Release When Theaters Open

China theaters are reportedly considering a re-release of all four Avengers movies when they re-open.

A box office analyst recently reported that China theaters are considering re-releasing all four Avengers movies when they eventually re-open following their closure over the coronavirus fears. The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War and Endgame would be a perfect event for Chinese comic book movie fans to welcome them back from a troubling time across the country. China’s been on lockdown for two months due to the coronavirus, and many films like Sonic The Hedgehog have still not hit theaters there.

Box office analyst Gavin Feng took to Twitter to report on the news, with many fans in the comments debating if it’s just a simple cash grab or if the re-release would be a welcome event. Another re-release coming to Chinese theaters is Harry potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, this time in 4K. The obvious plan is to entice Chinese cinema lovers back to theaters after the lengthy lockdown in an effort to boost the economy and the country’s film industry, since the Chinese box office has lost upwards of $2 billion in the closures. Many fans joked that it was only a tactic to ensure James Cameron’s Avatar sequels doesn’t overtake Avengers: Endgame‘s incredible box office run. It’ll be interesting to see if all four films are released in the U.S. and across Europe when theaters eventually re-open.

Would you watch all four Avengers movies if they were re-released in theaters? Sound off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
