This issue of Empire may very well be one of the magazine’s most anticipated in a while. It’ll feature two covers: one with the old Avengers roster, with Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America on the forefront, and another one with Thanos’ new look for Avengers: Endgame. It will also include a 48-page Avengers Farewell Special, and let’s be honest, we’re not really ready to read it or to see the end of Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans’ characters. Check out the cover below:
Last time we saw Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers was during Avengers: Infinity War. Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man was sorely defeated by Thanos on his home planet, Titan, and was left with Nebula to rot after most of the Guardians of The Galaxy, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange vanished in front of them due to Thanos acquiring all six Infinity Stones. Chris Evans’ Captain America was battling out Thanos’ lieutenants in Wakanda when suddenly the Mad Titan appeared to defeat them and the rest of the Avengers, as well as wiping half out half of the universe.
According to the first Avengers: Endgame trailer, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is on Earth dealing with the fact that most of his teammates are gone and Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark is drifting around in the universe waiting for a miracle to save him. After watching last week’s trailer, it seems more than likely that miracle will be Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.
How do you think Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans look on the Empire magazine cover? Do you think we’ll see Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans meet their end in the film? Sound off in the comment section down below!
