‘Avengers’ Star Tom Hiddleston Says ‘Loki’ Disney+ Series Is ‘A New Departure’

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston commented on the upcoming Disney+ series centered on Loki in a recent interview by calling it, “A new departure.”

Marvel Studios is heading into a new era following Spider-Man: Far From Home, which marks the end of the Infinity Saga. Aside from developing more films, the studio is also working on various television shows for Disney+. One of those shows will be centered on MCU fan favorite, Loki. Tom Hiddleston has played Loki in six MCU films to date. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hiddleston talked about how special the experience playing the character has been:

“It is a constant source of surprise and delight that these films have connected with people. I knew he was a complex figure. Intelligent yet vulnerable. Angry and lost and broken and witty. I thought it was an amazing opportunity and it’s grown into this network of movies. I could never have expected it. I feel very fortunate that this character has connected with people.”

Tom Hiddleston went on to tease the upcoming Disney+ series saying:

“All I can tell you is that it is called Loki. It is a new departure … but I can’t explain why.”
