‘Batman: Arkham’ Fans Disappointed With Lack Of Update From WB Games Montreal

Warner Bros. Games Montreal offered fans an update today, although it wasn’t the update fans of the Batman Arkham series were hoping for.

After years of rumors and even a tease, fans of the Batman: Arkham series were hoping for an official confirmation of the long-awaited next installment of the franchise today. Unfortunately, they were left disappointed as WB Games Montreal took to Twitter to confirm they have no update regarding their next project.

“Thank you very much for the enthusiasm for our next project,” the official WB Games Montreal Twitter account tweeted. “At this time, our channel will showcase the studio: Who we are and why we love making games! So stay tuned!”

Fans were quick to voice their disappointment regarding the lack of news for a new installment to the Batman Arkham series, sounding off in the replies to WB Games.

WB Games Montreal has not yet confirmed they are actually making a new Batman game but they were originally expected to make it official with an announcement at either the Game Developers Conference or E3 this year. Back in January, the WB Games Montreal Twitter account tweeted out an image with the phrase “Cape sur la nuit / Capture the Knight.” Although it has yet to be confirmed, the next Batman game appears to be based on the Court of Owls storyline from the comics, which features a secret society attempting to kill the Batman himself.

Rumors have also suggested that the next Batman game will be a cross-gen release across platforms such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The game is also rumored to feature other members of the Bat-Family as playable characters, which wouldn’t come as a great surprise considering the ability to play as Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl in previous games in the franchise.
