‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Character To Debut In ‘Detective Comics’ #1000

In a recent announcement from DC Comics, it was revealed that the Batman: Arkham Knight character, The Arkham Knight, would be making his comic book debut in Detective Comics #1000.

The main story of the book itself is set to be written by Peter Tomasi, a veteran of DC comics who has been working with the company since the mid-’90s and has written many Batman stories in the past. Among these comics also happens to be the comic prequel series to the Batman: Arkham Knight video game. As of the writing of this article, no further details have been revealed regarding the main story.

The character first appeared in the 2015 video game and served as one of its primary antagonists. In one of the game’s more predictable twists, it was revealed that the character was, in fact, the Arkham Universe’s version of Jason Todd. As fans know, Jason Todd was originally the second Robin before being tortured and killed by The Joker in the Batman: A Death in the Family storyline by Jim Starling.

In Batman: Arkham Knight, the character was revealed to have survived this and was kept in an abandoned wing of Arkham Asylum. Isolated for a year, Jason eventually went insane and vowed revenge upon Batman who he blamed. At the end of the game, he eventually turns on the game’s other main antagonist, The Scarecrow, before Batman stops his plans. And from the look of things, they intend to include this character into the main DC Universe. It is currently unknown if this character will again be Jason Todd or another, new, character.

What do you all make of this inclusion? Are you looking forward to seeing the Arkham Knight in the main DC Universe or should the character have remained in the Arkham Universe? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Detective Comics #1000 is set to be released on March of 2019.
