2020 is already shaping up to be a big one for video games. Earlier this year Microsoft announced its new Xbox, the Xbox Series X with Sony unveiling the logo for the Playstation 5 not long after. Both systems are projected to be released in the Holliday season of this year. Unfortunately, such reliable information is not readily available for the upcoming Batman Arkham game from Warner Bros. Montreal. However, one journalist is suggesting that the upcoming Batman Arkham game from Montreal will be a cross-generation release.
While engaging with followers on Twitter, Geeks World Wide Editor in Chief, KC Walsh made a few suggestions regarding the upcoming Batman Arkham game from Warner Bros. Montreal. Based on what he had heard, you can play as other members of the Batman Family, that it is primarily made for next-generation consoles but that it could very well end up on previous generation consoles as well:
Such a thing would not be uncommon in the video game industry. While Batman: Arkham Knight was notably only available for the PS4 and Xbox One, many other games in the early period of that console generation cycle were cross-generation as well. The upcoming Xbox Series X will also have backwards compatibility with Xbox One game and rumors have indicated that the PS5 will also be backwards compatible with other Playstation consoles as well. So the idea that the upcoming Batman Arkham game from Montreal will be cross-generation one isn’t all that far fetched.
What do you all make of this news? Would you like to be able to play the next Batman Arkham game from Montreal on your PS4 or Xbox One? Would you rather the developers stick to keeping it on the PS5 and Xbox Series X? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
