Affleck has completed his 40-day in-patient treatment for alcohol addiction at a rehab facility in Malibu, Calfornia, however, as he confirmed in his post, he will indeed remain in outpatient care. Affleck has long struggled with alcoholism in the past. He returned to rehab for the third time for alcohol addiction in August after his estranged wife Jennifer Garner staged an intervention following the actor being seen having alcohol delivered to his home. Affleck previously checked himself into rehab back in 2001, and the second time last December.
Recently, the actor has been seen getting back into shape, leading some fans to believe he could return for another outing as the caped crusader in Matt Reeves’ upcoming standalone film The Batman. Reports have suggested that is in fact why the actor is once again getting fit, however, his return to the DC Films franchise has not yet been confirmed.
The Batman is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Cyborg, Nightwing, Supergirl, New Gods, a Deathstroke film, and a Joker origin movie set outside of the DCEU.
