Former Batman Star Ben Affleck Is Open To Working With Kevin Smith Again

Former Batman Ben Affleck revealed in a recent interview he would be open to working with Kevin Smith again after past comments made by the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot director.

Long before Ben Affleck took on the role of Batman, he starred in many Kevin Smith films which include Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, and Clerks II. Despite five collaborations, Ben Affleck and Kevin Smith have not worked together since 2006. Kevin Smith shared his excitement when Ben Affleck was cast as Batman.

However, Kevin Smith admitted he doesn’t have a close relationship with the actor anymore and speculates it might be due to stories he’s shared in the past. While speaking with Collider, Ben Affleck revealed he would be open to working with Kevin Smith again and shared which role he would prefer to reprise:

“Your guess is a good as mine. I haven’t been asked to make an appearance but you never know, there’s still time. We’ll see. I think if it was up to me, I would rather do Holden than Shannon, but I would defer to Kevin.”

Kevin Smith is currently working on the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, but would you like to see Ben Affleck make a surprise appearance? Sound off in the comments below!

Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though Matt Reeves is looking to cast a younger Bruce Wayne to replace Ben Affleck and the film will include multiple villains.
