TMZ spotted Affleck heading into the studio with a script in his hand on Wednesday for a meeting. While there was a report that the actor was finished with rehab, TMZ’s sources say that is not the case.
Affleck’s meeting comes a day after Heroic Hollywood Editor-in-Chief Umberto Gonzalez shared that Warner Bros. loves the first draft of Matt Reeves’ standalone Batman film. Reeves is also currently doing revisions on the script as the film aims for a summer 2019 production start. Reeves hasn’t confirmed whether Affleck will star in his film or not but rumors have been swirling for more than a year that he is out.
Details on the story for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the project is rumored to be centered on a younger Caped Crusader and Matt Reeves confirmed that it will not be based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic.
The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, Nightwing, a Deathstroke film and Joker, an origin movie set outside of the DCEU.
