In a recent interview, Justice League stars Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot discussed how their characters have changed since we last saw them.
When speaking with US Weekly, Gal Gadot went in-depth with their characters, discussing how she’s progressed since we last saw her:
“She’s grown up — it’s been a century, after all! She’ll bring her specific qualities to a group dynamic, and she understands the enemy better than anyone else.”
Ben Affleck was also asked how Batman has changed since we last him:
Ben Affleck: “In Batman v Superman, he was at the end of his rope. But in Justice League he’s finding hope again. He has to open up and play well with others. He knows he needs them.”
One of the most important parts of Batman’s arc in Batman v Superman was regarding how he refused to play nice with others – specifically Superman, who he saw as a literal terrorist. Going forward, it’s interesting to hear Affleck say that he’s willing to open up to other members of the League.
“He’s sort of the ultimate loner, but he’s really trying to make it work and develop a good relationship with all of them. He might be a mentor to The Flash.”
In the promotional footage of the film, we’ve seen Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen riff off each other greatly, and we do sense that The Flash is looking for something to fight for when he joins the League, and maybe Batman can help him find that?
