‘Justice League Mortal’: New Look At Armie Hammer As Batman & Wonder Woman

Newly-surfaced photos from George Miller’s Justice League Mortal show Armie Hammer’s Batman and Megan Gale’s Wonder Woman with the rest of the titular team.

Justice League Mortal is one of the biggest films to never see the light of day. The project, which was set to be directed by Mad Max: Fury Road helmer George Miller, would have given us a fresh take on some of our favorite DC Comics characters like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Justice League Mortal already had a cast in place with the likes of Armie Hammer and Megan Gale, and was ready to begin production, but unexpected issues such as the WGA strike and the storied success of The Dark Knight caused Warner Bros. to shelve the film.

A decade later, Justice League Mortal has become a mere blip in the history of live-action DC Comics movies. The project would have marked the cinematic debut of characters like The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. Since then, most of those characters have appeared on the big screen in different projects.

With the advent of the internet and fansites, more information regarding Justice League Mortal has been revealed, which in turn has fueled tons of interest towards the shelved project. Now, new photos of Armie Hammer’s Batman and Megan Gale’s Wonder Woman from Justice League Mortal are here thanks to filmmaker Ryan Unicomb. You can check them out below.

In the images posted above, we get look at Armie Hammer’s Batman alongside Justice League members Superman, The Flash and Aquaman fully suited up and ready for action. Unfortunately, the picture isn’t of the best quality but it’s decent enough to show off Armie Hammer’s Batman costume. If you swipe right, a much better, clear look at Megan Gale’s Wonder Woman can be found. Her Wonder Woman suit is a classic and safe interpretation of the costume. It certainly lacks the gloss of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman but to be fair, these are probably images taken from a screen or costume test.

In addition to Armie Hammer as Batman and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Justice League: Mortal would have also starred D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Common as Green Lantern, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord and Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul. Late Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin was also on board as Wally West.

What are your thoughts on Armie Hammer’s Batman and Megan Gale’s Wonder Woman? Are you sad that Justice League Mortal was shelved? Let us know in the comments!
