Warner Bros. and DC are currently working on several projects that are in various stages of development and Matt Reeves’ The Batman is included among them. However, when asked if he was involved with the other DC films, Reeves explained that he is only working on The Batman:
“Right now, I’m involved in The Batman. What it will be called ultimately, I don’t know. Aquaman is going to be very different from the Todd Phillips Joker movie, and that’s going to be different from Shazam and Harley Quinn. Warners believes they don’t have to try to develop a giant slate that has to have all the plans for how it’s going to connect. What they need to try and do is make good movies with these characters.”
Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film is said to center around a younger Caped Crusader and Matt Reeves has confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic.
The Batman is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films. These projects includeThe Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Suicide Squad 2, Nightwing, Supergirl, Plastic Man, New Gods, a Deathstroke film, and a Joker origin movie set outside of the DCEU.
