The character of Batman was so popular in The Lego Movie, that an eventual spin-off film was released in 2017, properly named The Lego Batman Movie, which also performed well at the box office.
Now fans can look forward to next year’s The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, with a brand new poster that has just been released. In this poster (which Arnett revealed earlier today), we can see Batman in all of his glory with a surprisingly new look – tires on his shoulder. Whatever new advantage these tire shoulders exactly will do is a mystery for now, as The Lego Movie 2 is sure to provide a comedic answer to this.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part will be released in theatres on February 8, 2019 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Five years after its predecessor, the Duplo invaders have made Bricksburg into a post-apocalyptic wasteland as a result of Finn’s father allowing his younger sister to play with him in the basement. Emmet is completely unaffected by this dramatic change and pretends everything is still awesome, unlike everyone else, who have been toughened and hardened, making them ready for more fighting. Suddenly, an intergalactic invader named Sweet Mayhem comes from outer space and plans to join forces with the Duplo invaders to take over the Legoverse. When she kidnaps Emmet’s girlfriend Wyldstyle and the rest of his friends, Wyldstyle’s ex-boyfriend Batman, MetalBeard, Princess Unikitty and Benny, Emmet’s master building skills are put to the ultimate test. He must use them to travel to space and rescue his friends, defeat Sweet Mayhem, and restore harmony to Bricksburg and the rest of the Lego Universe, with help from a new friend, Rex Dangervest.
Directed by Mike Mitchell and Trisha Gum from a script written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Matthew Fogel, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, and Stephanie Beatriz.
