See Robert Pattinson replace Ben Affleck under Batman’s cape and cowl for Matt Reeves’ upcoming film in this amazing image.

If you haven’t heard the latest Bat-news, it seems that Twilight star Robert Pattinson is Warner Bros. and DC top choice to replace Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DCEU. The news took the internet by storm earlier this week. Some fans were outraged to see Robert Pattinson replace Ben Affleck, deeming him unworthy of the role. Other fans were far more welcoming and willing to give the young actor a chance to show off his acting skills and prove why he seems to be Matt Reeves’ top choice for the role.

Fans are already trying to envision Robert Pattinson as Ben Affleck’s replacement and fan artwork is pouring all over the internet depicting him as the next Dark Knight. This particular image shows us how Robert Pattinson might look while wearing the famous black cape and cowl:

Many Ben Affleck fans were disappointed to know that he won’t portray Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DCEU any longer. Before being cast, Ben Affleck was seriously criticized for taking on the Batman role, but after watching him interpret the Caped Crusader, most DCEU fans were satisfied to see he did a great job. Many think that Ben Affleck should have continued to play Batman, but Warner Bros. and DC thought that the character needed a reboot with a much younger actor. After seemingly headed to direct the new Batman film, Ben Affleck left the project and Matt Reeves’ took its helm.

Plot details for Matt Reeves’ film are still under wraps, though the project has been rumored to be centered on a younger Caped Crusader as he tackles several of his more traditional enemies such as The Penguin and Catwoman. While Warner Bros. is set to restart the character’s story on the big screen, Matt Reeves has confirmed that his film will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic. Robert Pattinson has reportedly been cast in the Bruce Wayne/Batman role and Ben Affleck’s replacement, however, Warner Bros. has yet to make an official announcement.

The film is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. The list also includes a Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman 2, The Trench, Black Adam, Supergirl, Plastic Man and New Gods.
