According to EW, they’ve seen the film and Batman & Superman apparently get played by Luthor, who “manipulates their rage and anxiety”.
The following contains a minor spoiler, so if you don’t want to be spoiled stop reading.
EW states:
“The rage and anxiety of these two characters is manipulated by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), a billionaire sociopath with a God complex of his own who takes joy in bringing the powerful to their knees. Luthor not only [slight spoiler alert] orchestrates a mass murder aimed at turning the two heavy hitters against each other but also uses some Kryptonian relics left behind from the Man of Steel aftermath to cook up a cosmic mutant Frankenstein— Doomsday, partially built from the remains of Michael Shannon’s General Zod.”
It seems like the previous rumors on Doomsday are indeed true and Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will prove to be a formidable enemy.
When it comes to Batman and Superman’s feelings towards their battle Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill had this to say:
Affleck on Batman:
“He’s projecting his own sense of failure, his own sense of disillusionment, his own cynicism onto Superman.”
Cavill on Superman:
“Superman’s weakness is that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone, he doesn’t want to scare anyone, and in that you can take advantage of him. This is someone who is a complete amateur, and he’s facing up against someone who is very well versed in the arts of war.”
You can check out the covers below
“Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.
