Warner Bros.’ upcoming slate of animated DC films includes an adaption of the acclaimed Superman: Red Son comic by author Mark Millar. Like the comic, Superman: Red Son will tell a story in a universe where Superman’s ship crash-landed in Soviet Ukraine instead of Smallville, Kansas, and the Man of Steel was raised to a champion the Soviet Union.
The Superman: Red Comic also introduced a new version of Batman who vowed revenge as a child after witnessing his dissident parents being gunned down by Stalin’s police force. This version of Batman will be featured in the Superman: Red Son film and now the first photo of the masked vigilante known as Batmankoff has surfaced online.

Here is the official synopsis for the Superman: Red Son comic:
“Imagine a reality where the world’s most powerful super-being does not grow up in Smallville, Kansas – or even America, for that matter…
SUPERMAN: RED SON is a vivid tale of Cold War paranoia, that reveals how the ship carrying the infant who would later be known as Superman lands in the midst of the 1950s Soviet Union. Raised on a collective, the infant grows up and becomes a symbol to the Soviet people, and the world changes drastically from what we know – bringing Superman into conflict with Batman, Lex Luthor and many others.”
Superman: Red Son features the voice talents of Jason Isaacs as Superman, Diedrich Bader as Lex Luthor, Amy Acker as Lois Lane, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, Phil Morris as James Olsen, Paul Williams as Brainiac, Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Sasha Roiz as Green Lantern / Hal Jordan, Phil LaMarr as Green Lantern / John Stewart, William Salyers as Stalin, Jim Meskimen as JFK, Travis Willingham as Superior Man, and Winter Ave Zoli as Svetlana.
Superman: Red Son will be released in 2020.
