This rumor broke out today on Reddit as user PopsicleWarrior shared his thoughts on The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. This user stated that, in a particular moment of the film, the Caped Crusader gloats around about how he’s really popular because he’s had nine movies up until now and three more are in development:
“So I just watched lego movie 2, theres a scene where Batman kinda said that he is popular because he had 9 movies and there will be 3 in development….im sure he didnt include animated movies. So my best guess is that those 3 are Matt Reeve’s trilogy. So any thought? (for those who have watched it)”
The Lego Movie franchise became famous for their impeccable sense of humor and depth when it comes to dissecting the feelings of the famous mini figures. This scene may be a huge joke to tease fans to think that there are three movies featuring the Dark Knight in development. The only Batman movie fans know is currently in development is the untitled Matt Reeves project that will come out in 2020. There’s no news at the moment of any other Batman live-action films, let alone a trilogy all together.
