After the opening credits of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reintroduces fans to the origin story of Bruce Wayne’s (Ben Affleck) masked alter ego, fans are shown the climax of Man of Steel through the billionaire’s eyes. This moment sets up why Batman has a lack of trust in Superman (Henry Cavill) and that theme is prevalent through the film all the way until they fight each other in the third act. It turns out that Batman may have been keeping. a closer eye on the Last Son of Krypton than previously thought.
The intriguing new Easter egg was discovered by DC Films Hub‘s John Aaron Garza via Twitter. The images reveal that Batman has been logging all of Superman’s super-heroics across Metropolis, including a an image of the Superman logo with a description of the crime beside it. Batman is known for being very detail oriented when it comes to keeping an eye on any and all possible threats, so this moment pictured above is certainly something that stays true to the character in the comics. Batman v Superman had the Caped Crusader go through an important arc that ended with him feeling he owed a debt to Superman before preparing to go form the Justice League.
