Despite the divisive nature of the film, the premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice made an impressive debut when it aired on HBO
Released earlier this year and directed by Zack Snyder, the film features Oscar-winner Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent and also stars Oscar nominees Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White; Oscar winners Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter as Senator Finch; and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice the theatrical and its R-rated Ultimate Edition are currently available on Digital HD and Blu-ray.
The story of the wider DCEU will continue in next year’s Wonder Woman and Justice League, with the latter continuing the story from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
