Aside from Lex Luthor and Doomsday, we don’t know whether or not we’re going to see any other villains in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice… well, up until the first spoilers from the movie start making the rounds, that is. However, it sounds like two iconic villains of the Caped Crusader almost made it into the movie, but were cut from the script due to a number of reasons.
In a recent interview with Collider, Zack Snyder revealed that the Joker and the Riddler almost made an appearance in the final draft of the movie, but were eventually removed in order to focus on the conflict between the two titular heroes:
“The Joker and The Riddler both came close to being in this movie. We talked about the possibility of putting them in. [Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie and that’s cool, but I didn’t want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict.”
A few lucky fans will get to see the movie tomorrow night, but one thing’s now for sure: you’re not going to see Jared Leto’s Joker in it. What do you guys think? Would you like to see the Riddler in the DC Extended Universe at some point in the future? Let us know in the comment section below.
