After the stunning news that Zoë Kravitz would be joining Robert Pattinson as Selina Kyle in The Batman, one of the co-writers of the film revealed his excitement to see the film. While not many plot details are known about The Batman, it seems like it’ll see The Caped Crusader take on some of his greatest villains. One rumor suggested The Batman will adapt The Long Halloween story, as Batman hunts down the ‘Holiday Killer’, fighting off some of his most iconic enemies as he does so.
Mattson Tomlin worked with Matt Reeves on writing The Batman and took to Twitter to explain that writing the film has been a ‘life altering experience’, before calling Bruce Wayne the ‘World’s Greatest Detective’. This keeps in line with the idea that The Batman will lean heavily into Bruce’s detective skills rather than just a simple masked vigilante. Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogue’s Gallery of villains that includes Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman and the Penguin. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
