‘Baywatch’: CinemaCon 2017 Footage Description

Paramount Pictures debuted brand new footage from the upcoming film reboot of the hit 90’s series Baywatch starring Dwayne Johnson tonight at CinemaCon.

Baywatch follows Lieutenant of the LA County Lifeguards Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) and lifeguard Matt Brody (Zac Efron) as they team up to foil a criminal plot that threatens the future of the bay designed by the villainous oil tycoon Victoria Leeds (Priyanka Chopra).

The series about lifeguards shot on location on the beaches of Santa Monica, CA which debuted in 1989 was a major hit. Baywatch starred Knight Rider himself, David Hasselhoff, A.K.A. The Hoff as well as Pamela Anderson. The series had one of the most memorable intro themes to ever grace television and spawned the spinoff Baywatch Nights, made for TV movies, and even the copycat series Pacific Blue.

The film will feature an appearance by Anderson, who originally played lifeguard CJ Parker on the series as well as Hasselhoff, the original Lieutenant of the LA County lifeguards Mitch Buchannon.

In one scene, Efron and Johnson’s characters go to investigate a crime and gather evidence at a hospital morgue. There, Johnson’s character tells Efron’s that he has to check the dead body’s private parts. He’s forced to lift up the cadaver’s penis in a scene that made the audience gasp. Just then, Johnson snaps a photo of Efron doing this on his iPhone, and it’s revealed to all be a joke on Efron’s character.

Later, they’re forced to hide in the morgue (Efron on top of a dead body), and bodily fluids drop down onto him.

The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, Priyanka Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Pamela Anderson, and David Hasselhoff. Here’s the official synopsis:

BAYWATCH follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
