A movie theater promo standee reveals the household staff of 'Beauty and the Beast' in their human form for the first time.
In the trailer we got a glimpse at the Beast’s household staff including Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) – but we haven’t seen them in their human form yet. Now, we now have a peek at what the household staff look like in their human form.
In the standee, we see Belle (Emma Watson) and the Beast (Dan Stevens), but we also see Gaston (Luke Evans), Le Fou (Josh Gad) and Maurice (Kevin Kline) on the left. Right on the staircase, we see the titular duo dancing while the household staff is seen in their classic form on this staircase. Meanwhile, on the right we finally get a glimpse at the staff as humans: Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Cadenza (Stanley Tucci), Garderobe (Audra McDonald) and Plumette.
I’m a bit surprised to see the household staff after the enchantment is lifted, but then again – Beauty and the Beast is a classic film that has resonated with millions for years, so in a way, this film cannot be spoiled. Also, besides a painting on the wall, we haven’t seen the Beast in action in human form. What do you guys think of this promo standee?
Directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson, Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17, 2017.
