It’s clear from Affleck’s tweet that he viewed Mendez with much reverence and feels very proud to have worked with him and been able to share one of his stories.
Although he donned the Bat-cowl in 2016’s Batman v Superman and 2017’s Justice League, Affleck’s future as the Caped Crusader in the DCEU is currently unknown. Rumors surrounding the next installment in the Gotham hero’s journey, The Batman, seem to point to the taking the hero in a different direction. Will this next iteration of Batman be in the same shared universe as Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker film?
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the DCEU as we learn it.
