Ben Affleck’s Batman Gets ‘Under The Red Hood’ Inspired Image

With a dead Robin teased in the DCEU, new fan art features Ben Affleck’s Batman in an awesome Batman: Under the Red Hood inspired image.

Robin has been noticeably absent in the DCEU, but his presence has been across multiple films. In Batman v Superman, a vandalized Robin suit is seen and it was also revealed in Suicide Squad Harley Quinn killed the DCEU’s Boy Wonder. When Ben Affleck was still on board to helm and star in the standalone film, many DCEU fans wanted the film to take ques from Batman: Under the Red Hood and thought the DCEU was setting up the storyline. Deathstroke was going to be the main villain of Ben Affleck’s version, but it is unknown if it took any inspiration from Under the Red Hood.

Under the Red Hood is a famous DC Comics storyline by Judd Winick and features the return of Jason Todd after his death from Joker. The comic book arc ran from 2004 to 2005 and introduced Red Hood. The storyline was later adapted into an animated film and Red Hood has gone on to appear across other mediums. However, the character has yet to appear in live-action, but new fan art from William Gray shows what a Ben Affleck led Under the Red Hood film could have looked like:

When do you think Red Hood will make his live-action debut? Do you wish Ben Affleck directed a Red Hood-inspired film? Sound off in the comments below!

Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though Matt Reeves is looking to cast a younger Bruce Wayne to replace Ben Affleck and the film will include multiple villains. Matt Reeves also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the film and all of Warner Bros. upcoming DC Films and television projects!

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
