The Flash solo film has undergone many different versions since Ezra Miller was first cast in the role. It was revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2017 that the Flash film was going to follow Geoff Johns’ Flashpoint storyline, which sends Barry Allen into an alternate dimension where Reverse Flash has prevented the Justice League to unite. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are the latest to be on board to direct The Flash film, but it seems the project has shifted away from the Flashpoint storyline.
Flashpoint features an alternate Batman who is actually Thomas Wayne. In the DCEU, Watchmen and The Walking Dead star Jeffery Dean Morgan played the ill-fated father of Bruce Wayne. Many DC fans believed Jeffrey Dean Morgan would suit up at Batman in the Flashpoint film, but since plans have changed it seems unlikely. Ben Affleck is also no longer playing Batman, so it is unknown how connected the DCEU will be going forward. Nonetheless, new fan art from Dalton Barrett features Jeffrey Dean Morgan replacing Ben Affleck as a Flashpoint Batman, which you can see below:

Plot details for Matt Reeves’ film are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and includes multiple villains. Warner Bros. and Matt Reeves are reportedly looking to cast an actor in his 20s to early 30s to replace Ben Affleck. It is also unclear if the film will be connected to the DCEU. Ben Affleck appeared in three DCEU films as the Dark Knight. Ben Affleck also said recently that he would be open to directing a DC movie in the future.
Matt Reeves also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films.
