Ben Affleck Promoted To Executive Producer On ‘Justice League’

Ben Affleck debuted in the DC Extended Universe as the next person to bring Bruce Wayne a.k.a. the Batman to life in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it looks like Affleck’s role in the DC/WB business just got a lot bigger.

Deadline reported today that Affleck will also be working behind the camera in the upcoming Justice League film as he has been promoted to executive producer on the project which is filming in London. The report goes on to say that he will be working closely with Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, 300) who is directing it as well with screenwriter Chris Terrio that wrote Part 1 of the installment.

Given that Warner Bros. Pictures and Affleck has been working together for the past few years with films like The Town and the Oscar winning Argo so getting him more involved within the DC world, makes a lot of sense.

This promotion makes a lot of sense as it was recently reported that Affleck will in fact be directing as well as produce his own Batman stand-alone film which he co-wrote with Geoff Johns. In episode six of Heroic Insider, Heroic Hollywood’s own Umberto Gonzalez revealed during the Heroic Scoop Drop of the Week that Affleck and Johns has full creative control of that project. Justice League: Part One, starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon and Willem Dafoe,  opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
