Ben Barnes Shares Image Of Him Replacing Ben Affleck As Batman

Ben Barnes becomes Batman in this awesome fan art that has the actor replacing Ben Affleck in the DCEU.

Now that Ben Affleck is no longer set to play the Caped Crusader in the DC Extended Universe, fans have been trying to predict who will don the cape and cowl next. Actors like Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Hamm have been fan-favorites to headline Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman movie but a new piece of fan art has named The Punisher’s Ben Barnes as a worthy contender for the role. On The Punisher, the actor plays one of the antagonists to Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), Billy Russo, aka Jigsaw.

The fan art is so impressive that it even caught the attention of Ben Barnes himself. The actor took to Instagram to share the fan art, which features Barnes donning the costume worn by Christian Bale’s Batman in the hit 2008 DC film The Dark Knight. Check out the awesome art in the post below.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman hits theaters in 2021 and an official replacement for Ben Affleck has yet to be announced. Fans won’t have to wait until 2021 for more Gotham City action though. In October, Joker debuts in theaters with Joaquin Phoenix playing the titular villain in his first solo movie. Just a few months after that, in 2020, Birds of Prey premieres with an eclectic cast of familiar faces for DC fans including Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina), Black Mask (Ewan McGregor), and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

The entire cast is filled with no additions to the DCEU except for Harley Quinn, who first debuted in 2016’s Suicide Squad. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Ben Affleck’s replacement in the DCEU as soon as more information becomes available.
