Ben Schwartz Would Love To Appear On ‘Stranger Things’

Last summer, Netflix released a series that would go on to become a cultural phenomenon with Stranger Things. The Duffer Brothers’ enthralling tribute to 1980s cinema and Stephen King stories caught audiences binging all eight episodes of its first season. The success of the series would then lead Netflix to greenlight a second season.

Amidst all the fan theories and speculation that can be traced to bringing justice for Barb (Shannon Purser), the backstory to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and so forth, one of the most amusing fan theories involved Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) being the father of Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (Ben Schwartz) of Parks and Recreation fame.

The fan theory became so popular that Keery and Schwartz met together last year to pose in hilarious “father and son” photos. Schwartz even playfully confirmed the biological relationship in his own personal head-canon for Stranger Things. 

Recently, Schwartz appeared on Larry King Now, where King asked him on whether or not he will show up on the show. Schwartz responded excitedly:

I would love to show up on Stranger Things.

Schwartz then asked King if he would help him get the opportunities to appear in a Marvel movie and/or lending his voice talents to a Pixar film. You can see part of Schwartz’s interview down below.

Would you like to see Schwartz make an appearance on Stranger Things? If this were to happen, I surely hope the Duffer Brothers find a way to make sure that Steve Harrington is in fact the biological father of Jean-Ralphio Saperstein. That way, it will showcase that both Stranger Things and Parks and Recreation are in the same canonical continuity.

All episodes of the first season of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix. The highly-anticipated second season of the series will premiere on the service on October 31, 2017.
