After helping fend off the major threats, Wong told Banner that he needed to remain in the Sanctum Santorum as the protector given that Doctor Strange has been kidnapped into space while Iron Man and Spider-Man are up there with him.
Many have questioned whether Wong survived Thanos’ snap that erased half of all existence. Given that much of the leaked promo material show the confirmed surviving Avengers and Guardians, Wong wasn’t shown to be in the picture. But then again, Okoye (Danai Gurira), M’Baku (Winston Duke) and Shuri (Letitia Wright) from Wakanda were confirmed to survive and they’re not in the concept art either.
Now, Benedict Wong has shared an official image of himself, confirming that he will be reprising his role as Wong in Avengers 4. To what context? All of that remains in intense secrecy until next May:
Benedict Wong is the latest actor to share to social media his involvement in the highly-anticipated finale to the entire MCU arcs from Phase 1, 2 and 3. Given that Avengers 4 is said to be even more epic than Infinity War, don’t be surprised if Wong and his abilities as a sorcerer come into play in an exciting way as the surviving Avengers and Guardians assemble to rescue their fallen friends and the other half of all existence.
