Speaking to Collider, actor Benedict Wong confirmed he will reprise his role as mystic arts master Wong in Avengers: Endgame.
While talking about working with the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Endgame directors and executive producers for the Deadly Class series -which will feature Wong as Master Lin: The ruthless, no-nonsense headmaster of King’s Dominion-, Wong stated that:
Yeah, there was a time when I was doing Avengers 4 [Endgame]. Normally it would be a logistical nightmare with the hair and negotiating that, but it’s great. I’m grateful to be on a double Russo Brothers production. It was streamlined.
There were rumors that Wong would be reprising his role as the magician he also played in Doctor Strange and Avengers: Infinity War, but nothing for certain until now. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wong is depicted as a master in the mystic arts while he’s traditionally shown as a manservant to Doctor Strange in the comics.
Wong’s inclusion in the movie may yet confirm also Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange to be also featured in Endgame and a probable revival of the character after he got “snapped” out of existence by Thanos.
A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
