According to the trade, Birds of Prey has also recruited Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, Francois Chau and Matthew Willig. Wilson is said to be playing an associate of Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) but the rest of the roles are being kept under wraps.
Birds of Prey is set to begin filming early next year under the direction of Cathy Yan. The project sees the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell joining the DC Extended Universe as Huntress and Black Canary, respectively. Ewan McGregor plays the film’s lead bad guy, Black Mask.
Margot Robbie is producing Birds of Prey alongside Sue Kroll and Bryan Unkeless. The project centers around the titular team of female heroes and villains based on the DC Comics characters and concepts created by Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon.
