‘Birds of Prey’: First Full Look At Jurnee Smollett-Bell’s Black Canary Costume

Here’s a first look at Jurnee Smollett-Bell in her full Black Canary costume in Birds of Prey (and The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

Birds of Prey is one of the most anticipated films in DC’s roster. The excitement to see Black Canary, Huntress and Harley Quinn meet up on the big screen is incremental. When filming began we got a minor sneak peek at Birds of Prey and saw a bit of each costume.

While on set, Jurnee Smollett-Bell was spotted in her full Black Canary costume. The costume is ok and we hope she gets something a bit more accurate by the end of the film. You can check out the photos below.

The film is set to hit theaters in February 2020 and, besides Black Canary, some of the other iconic DC Comics characters that will be appearing in the film are Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Mask (Ewan McGregor), and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

Directed by Cathy Yan from a script penned by Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Ali Wong, Robert Catrini, and Michael Masini have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

DC’s Birds of Prey film will be released in theaters on February 7, 2020.
