‘John Wick’ Director Chad Stahelski Will Oversee Margot Robbie’s ‘Birds of Prey’ Reshoots

Chad Stahelski, director of John Wick has been tapped to oversee additional action sequences being added to the upcoming DC Extended Universe film Birds of Prey starring Margot Robbie.

THR reports that Chad Stahelski will be bringing his filmmaking sensibilities to Birds of Prey in an uncredited role to bring more action-packed goodness to the Margot Robbie-starring vehicle directed by Dead Pigs filmmaker Cathy Yan.

According to THR, Chad Stahelski will be designing new action scenes with director Cathy Yan assisting, mainly as second unit. Chad Stahelski’s stunt firm company 87 Eleven had been working on the Margot Robbie-led film since principal photography began earlier this year.

Chad Stahelski is mostly known for his work on all three John Wick films consisting of John Wick (2014), John Wick: Chapter 2 and this year’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. John Wick: Chapter 4 is confirmed for a release date of May 21, 2021. Chad Stahelski has also done second unit work on films such as Captain America: Civil War.

Margot Robbie recently teased that the stunts for the upcoming DC film were some of the most impressive she’s worked on. Now that Chad Stahelski has come in to design some new action sequences for the film, it sure looks like Margot Robbie is right on the money, especially given that the John Wick films exhibit some of the best action in modern studio filmmaking today.
