Margot Robbie’s ‘Birds of Prey’ Teaser Playing Exclusively In Theaters

Variety has confirmed that the teaser trailer for DC’s upcoming film Birds of Prey starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn will only play in theaters.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. confirmed the news, showcasing that there is a concerted effort from the studio to bring in fans of DC Comics to see the teaser on the big screen attached to New Line Cinema’s highly-anticipated horror sequel, IT: Chapter Two. The teaser specifically ties into the horror film as the film’s iconography of Red Balloons are involved along with the Warner Bros. logo. However, it is interrupted by Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, exclaiming that she is “so f***ing over clowns”.

The teaser is then followed by new footage of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell’s Black Canary and Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask among others in the film’s impressive ensemble.

Birds of Prey is not the only teaser that Warner Bros. has kept exclusively in theaters. Last month, a teaser for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Tenet starring John David Washington and new Batman actor Robert Pattinson was attached to select showings of Hobbs & Shaw. Warner Bros. has yet to officially release the teaser online.
