Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Wants Black Manta To Team Up With Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn

Black Manta actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II wants to join the Suicide Squad and team-up with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.

Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made an appearance at Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio this weekend. During the Aquaman panel at the convention, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II teased the possibility of Black Manta running into Amanda Waller’s crew of disposable mercenaries known as the Suicide Squad. He particularly likes the idea of crossing paths with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in a future crossover. Yahya Abdul-Mateen revealed this when he was asked who he would like to pair up with in a potential film.

“I really like Black Manta and Harley Quinn.”

During his time at Celebrity Fan Fest, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II acknowledged that he wasn’t completely familiar with the character when he signed on to portray Aquaman’s popular villain on the big screen, but he saw this as an opportunity to expand his prowess as an actor:

“I came across this world, and it was really another opportunity to try something different, or to flex another acting muscle.”

The up-and-coming actor reassured fans that Black Manta will return to the DCEU in one way or another:

“Black Manta is gonna come back with some strong vengeance!”
