The covers offers a fresh look at Chadwick Boseman in full costume as the Black Panther, the character he first played in last year’s Captain America: Civil War, flanked by Michael B. Jordan’s villainous Erik Killmonger, and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, a member of the Dora Milaje. You can check out the cover below.
In addition to the above cover, EW also has a quote from Black Panther director and co-writer Ryan Coogler, discussing the political themes of the upcoming movie, something that we got a taste of in the recent teaser trailer.
“In this movie, a lot like politics, it’s a little tricky to define who’s [a good guy]. The film very much plays with those concepts, looking at conflicts and different motivations, and who’s with who.”
The film also stars Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan. Here’s the official synopsis:
“Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
Marvel’s Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018. Meanwhile, San Diego Comic-Con 2017 kicks off on July 20th. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more updates and live coverage from the event.
