‘Black Panther’: Michael B. Jordan & Lupita Nyong’o Debunk Dating Rumors

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Black Panther stars Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o addressed rumors they were dating.

Rumors of a romance between Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o  were fueled by an InStyle sketch at the magazine’s Golden Globes after-party, in which the Black Panther stars were “caught” making out in an elevator before co-star Danai Gurira arrived and promptly embraced Lupita Nyong’o for a kiss. However, Michael B. Jordan explained that the two of them are just friends before expressing his fondness for his co-star:

“No, we’re good friends, honestly, we’ve known each other a really long time and respect each other and I love this girl to death.”

Lupita Nyong’o added that both actors truly enjoy each other’s company on and off screen:

“It’s flattering at the end of the day. I think it’s such a rare thing to find people you have good chemistry with and too for us to find each other as actors and get to work together, it makes the work richer that we truly enjoy each other’s company on and off screen.”

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba, John Kani, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Black Panther is now available on Digitial HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
