Oscars 2019: Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ Wins For Best Costume Design

Disney and Marvel’s Black Panther is walking away from the Oscars with a well-deserved award for Best Costume Design.

Black Panther hit theaters just over a year ago and upon release, there was quite a bit for Marvel fans to talk about. Even before the film hit theaters, audiences were falling in love with its costume designs, as seen in the trailer. Thanks to the incredible work by the film’s crew, the Disney adventure movie has won an award at the Oscars for Best Costume Design.

Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. Carter accepted the award at the Oscars this evening. Carter triumphed over other nominees such as fellow Disney film Mary Poppins Returns, fellow Best Picture nominee The Favourite, Netflix’s The Ballad of  Buster Scruggs, and the critically-acclaimed period drama Mary Queen of Scots to win the award

Although T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) fell victim to Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) devastating attack at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, the Wakandan hero will return in Avengers: Endgame later this yearas well as an upcoming sequel to Black Panther.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Black Panther, as well as all installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as soon as more information becomes available.
