Marvel’s Black Panther has become a critical and commercial success with fans across the world, and the film’s director Ryan Coogler recently got the opportunity to see some of the film’s impact up-close. Recently,the director joined Elvis Mitchell for an episode of Epix’s Elvis Goes There. Ryan Coogler and Elvis Mitchell were at King’s Boxing Gym when a young fan caught the attention of the director and the encounter is one that both will remember for some time. Black Panther has been doing so well that it’s currently up for seven Academy Awards at this year’s Oscars ceremony. The nominations include Best Picture, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Original Song, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing. The ceremony is set to take place this Sunday February 24, 2019 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
