‘Black Widow’ Reportedly Begins Filming Next Month

According to Geeks Worldwide, Marvel Studios’ Black Widow film will begin production at the end of February.

While fans have yet to learn what the future holds for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow after Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios is expected to explore the character’s past in a standalone film centered on Natasha Romanoff. Now, Geeks Worldwide has reportedly confirmed the Black Widow film will begin production February 28th. It has previously been reported filming will take place in both Croatia and Miami, Florida.

Directed by By Cate Shortland from a script written by Jac Schaeffer, the Black Widow film is expected to take place before the character’s debut in Iron Man 2. The standalone film has the opportunity to explore the widow program, which would reveal the origin of Black Widow and how she became the formidable assassin she is today. In the comics, Natasha Romanoff was trained by the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, who is played by Sebastian Stan in the films.

Black Widow will return in the fourth Avengers film.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
