Black Widow Sticking With Current Release Date, Says Bob Chapek

Black Widow will return this May.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek has revealed that Black Widow will keep its current release date.

The ongoing pandemic appears to be ceasing as vaccines get delved out and theaters are reopening. Now, all eyes are on movie studios to announce when they’re releasing films on their upcoming slates. Today, during Disney’s annual shareholders meeting, CEO Bob Chapek confirmed that the Scarlett Johansson-led Black Widow will hit theater May 7, 2021.

Disney recently confirmed that they won’t pivot their upcoming films to streaming so this announcement doesn’t come as much as a surprise. During a previous investors call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek revealed that the studio was sticking to their theatrical strategy.

As of now, the strategy is to continue on with the theatrical release. And we’ll be watching very, very carefully.
