Yesterday, new photos from the set of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow surfaced online, revealing a mysterious figure with a hood and skull-like mask. While the character’s identity has yet to be confirmed, the design led many to believe the villainous Taskmaster might make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the Scarlett Johansson film.
Now, an additional set of photos offer fans a better look at what could be Taskmaster inside of a tank while pursuing Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, who is fleeing in a damaged vehicle with a passenger by her side. You can check out the images and decided if the antagonist could be Taskmaster for yourself.
Created by David Michelinie and George Pérez, Taskmaster is classic Marvel Comics villain with the ability to replicate the combat skills of anyone he observes. Taskmaster made his debut in The Avengers #195, which was published in May 1980.

The Black Widow film is expected to feature events that occurred before the character’s debut in Iron Man 2 and could explore the widow program, potentially revealing the origin story of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff and how she became the formidable assassin she is today. Yelena Belova, the second character to take up the Black Widow mantle in the comics, is rumored to play a role in the film.
Directed by By Cate Shortland from a script written by Ned Benson and Jac Schaeffer, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, and O-T Fagbenle. The Favourite star Rachel Weisz is reportedly circling a “key role” in the film.
